While I was baking/cooking...

Miss Riley Roo decided to be the cutest thing ever. Period. What a life this lil' girl has.

Where to for dinner tonight? Greece.

Tonight for our main course... Oven-Baked Fish with Tomato & Parsley (oh, and celery, garlic, lemon, olive oil & sugar). First recipe I'm trying from the cookbook Caroline gave me last year. This time around I'm going to serve with Jasmine rice & crusty bread. Healthy & de-lish.

Smitten with Snickerdoodles.

This Sunday's indulgence: Smitten's Snickerdoodles. Cinnamon & sugar heaven.
And full disclosure: I've never really jumped on the "Snickerdoodle bandwagon," until now. When I was a child, I really wasn't drawn to these cinnamon nibblies but, rather gravitated towards anything with generous portions of peanut butter or chocolate of any sort. Appeasing this fix however, was not always that easy back in the Pinette household. Here's the "why?" My sister, Holly, HATES chocolate (yes, she truly despises it!) and has her entire life. Therefore, I had to warm up to the sugar cookies or snickerdoodes or even oatmeal raisin goodness (which, I'm not complaining about, believe me). Either way, this cookies today DO NOT DISAPPOINT. Also of note, Snicker-Doods are Double M's favorite cookie... hence why the project commenced today. Enjoy my lil' double m.

Sunday Look-A-Like.

Okay. Really weird. My look-a-like. Minus the chest/arms... but the face is strangely... well, ME.

Holly & I.

Well, Holly & I decided to learn all the Lady Gaga/Beyonce dance moves of Telephone this weekend. Here we are.... well, not really, but it will be us soon. Maybe we'll record our version in April when I go visit Beantown. Enjoy.

Lunch with a "Modern" touch.

Decided to take a drive over to Aroma cafe in Studio City today (after I couldn't get a hold of JP for an impromptu lunch-date). While waiting in the insanely long line reading The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, I noticed Mister Eric Stonestreet was in front of me. What a hoot (never ever said that before, honestly). Well, regardless, since I love the show Modern Family, it was a nice surprise to see him in person. Happy Friday.

Another Cereal Post.

Another stupid cereal rant. Gorilla Munch might be a great tasty morning snack, but I swear it's housed in government plastic -- scissors needed. That's all. Oh & look at Kelly in the background. :)

p.s. my blackberry bold doesn't take the best pictures... sorry

Look Mum, I'm Famous!

This little guy can now brag to all his fellow bird friends (who have internet access in their nests) that he "made it" on google street view! So exciting. Congrats Larry.

Start Eyeglass Shopping More.

This is a creative business venture to say the least. For $95 each, you get a cool frame, prescription lenses (anti-reflective polycarbonate), shipping, home try-ons & returns (if needed). AND it gets better, for every pair of glasses you buy, Warby Parker gives a pair to someone in need. Go. START SHOPPING.

Sunday Bliss. Chocolate Chip Cookies.

These are pure bliss. Literally. Thanks to Smitten Kitchen & David Lebovitz for passing this recipe onto us common folk. I must say, I have really become a true "follower" of Deb over at Smitten Kitchen. She has never steered me wrong & she knows everything from cookies to breakfast pizza. THANK YOU DEB.
A few things I learned today when creating these masterpieces. Make sure butter is cold when you turn on that Kitchen Aid. Toast your nuts (hehe). I used pecans. Keep the dough in the fridge in between batches. Make sure your cookie sheet (I can't live without the metal professional pans with a Silpat) is fully cooled down before scooping out your next batch. Finally, make sure you give some to your neighbors as they walk by your window or else you'll eat them ALL immediately.

Slow Saturday.

11:20am.
Still at home unshowered & unshaven. Need to get going. Get going for what actually? Had fun at Loteria & Sam's birthday party last night. Although got home at 1:00am... WAY beyond Rye Guy's bedtime. Haven't been up that late in ages.

Another Friday Look-A-Like.

Jim, husband of one of the Real Housewives of Orange County (Alexis) looks a lot like Ursula from The Little Mermaid... no?

Friday Look-A-Likes.

Who would have thunk it. Barry & Justin Bieber are share the same childhood look (minus the yarmulke). This truly is the best post of my blog to date. DYING.

This couldn't be more sexual.

I mean, just shake it.

Congrats Josh!

Our friend Josh in a national AT&T commercial. Goodonya!

Whoopi Needs to STOP.

This is an embarrassing post. My daily routine in my office is to have my TV on ABC in the mornings while reading my e-mails & enjoying me tea coffee. Regis & Kelly followed by The View then back to Bravo for the rest of the day. Here's the thing. I used to not be able to watch The View because Rosie drove the living shit out of me. Now that Whoopi is on, I can handle it. However, now that Whoopi is doing MUCH MORE of her annoying "Stupid Valley Girl" voice... I really think I need to switch over to Bravo at 10am now. She really is SO NOT FUNNY & needs to stop. I can see it in Barbara & Joy's eyes... they HATE it too.

Whoopi, stop. It doesn't suit you. Thanks.

Cereals that hurt.

WARNING: Make sure you soak these cereals for ample time in your milk before diggin' in. Wowza, these can cut you up. That's all.

- Full Disclaimer: I LOVE these cereals so much... so please eat them. mmmmm.

Wednesday Thoughts.

It happened every year, was almost a ritual. And this was his eighty-second birthday. When, as usual, the flower was delivered, he took off the wrapping paper and then picked up the telephone to call Detective Superintendent Morell who, when he retired, had moved to Lake Siljan in Dalarna. They were not only the same age, they had been born on the same day--which was something of an irony under the circumstances. The old policeman was sitting with his coffee, waiting, expecting the call.

Day-in-the-Life of.... Kelly Cutrone

Weekend Recap.

In other news. What's new with Rye? This past weekend was a nice one. We catered to Dave's needs (strictly professional of course) by treating him to some Little Britain (the UK version) & pizza on Friday night...
Galen's "Get Day Drunk" birthday party happened ($3 drafts @ the Hudson, mmmm)... enjoyed ate forced down some Ramen from Atch-Kotch (sorry Matt)... Ron's 40th birthday went off without a hitch (despite the rain)... We pampered Dave some more with chocolate croissants, eggs, OJ, pane con honey (hehe) & some SNL...
The Oscars were aired (thank you Dennis & Shawn for a wonderful evening)... I started reading The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson. I am thinking about the book even as I type this. I cannot wait to continue reading it... so smart, so sneaky & very very mysterious.

Happy Tuesday.

Oh, this show makes me smile (even though Julie Bowen could gain a few extra pounds).

Guess what?!

You're gonna have to wait for an amazingly sick fabulous new post a wee bit longer... I'm swamped at work today & off to set now! Sorry blogger-friends. More soon. Promises (not the rehab facility, but a true promise).

Watch What Happens Live Spoof

Friday Ripa.

As many of my friends know, I've always wanted to be BFF with the one & only Kelly Ripa. It's become one of those weird things that sometimes I think I'm actually friends with her in real life. The fact I watch her show almost every morning at work (while still working of course) probably has a lot to do with it, but anyways. Happy Friday blog-readers. Week 1 of my blog has been completed... and frankly, it's still fun.... we'll see as time goes on.

p.s. photo A really does look like Christina Applegate, no?!

I want my babycakesNYC, my babycakesNYC, my...

Hello friends. I come to you on a mission. The mission is this. Force Drag Push Gently nudge you to venture into the deliciousness world that is BabyCakes NYC. They have recently opened up a location in downtown Los Angeles (with their flagship still in NYC) & it is worth a drive/subway ride down to taste their amazing & delectable delights. Vegan what? Gluten Free what? I know, I know. Remove those stigmas from your brain & open wide. Seriously, the brownie cupcake, the hot fresh homemade donuts & those unbelievably sweet cookie sandwiches will knock you over. I just sent a whole bunch of goodies from BabyCakes NYC over to one of our production companies for a "GOOD LUCK in tonight's season 3 premiere" & boy oh boy.... we've made them believers. You can too. Dig in.

You know you think you know...

We all think we know what criminals look like right? Maybe you see someone suspicious almost everyday at your local Dunkin Donuts or Coffee Bean? But, you never really know. Do you? Try your hand at this: Pick the Perp.

Not So Amazing Races.

First question. Who the hell is this Steve & Allie team? Did they just start competing in the race this episode? I honestly don't remember them ever. The producers don't even show them completing any tasks. They must be super boring or better yet, cheating. Other than that, this episode was a snooze-fest (I also fast-forwarded through last week's Survivor episode too). Boo Hiss.

Here are some Not So Amazing Race quotes from this week's episode.

"The red team is behind us and the lesbian team is behind us."
- Jet & Cord Cowboys

"Get off the horse. Stop sitting there."
"But, I like it."
- Brothers

"I can never read you (to Phil). You scare me. I always try to read your face and you're just like, blank"
- Jordan (Big Brother team)

"You always have beautiful cries."
- Shawne

Also of note. The fact the Detectives couldn't find the buried treasures in the Detour is so classic.

A few Wednesday thoughts.

- Take a moment today & think about how short life is.

- Remember, it's only television.

- It's 100% acceptable to cry, no matter what you've been programmed to think.

- Listen and reflect before taking control of the conversation. Listen & reflect.

Who are the people in your neighborhood?

Anyone looking for a mechanic? I think I found one for you. "I'll toss it in for free."

Looking in on my gchats.

Danielle: I think even though its only been a short time since starting, the blog is getting better. More honest. Maybe u r getting more comfortable. And again, proud of u for starting one.
me: Thanks. So random it is/I am.
Danielle: I think about starting one myself sometimes, but I also think it would run my life. I would obsess over each word. Josh would divorce me.
me: You make me raff. I will do some cooking posts too. Next time I cook/bake. Which oddly hasn't happened since Thursday.
Danielle: And I would worry I didn't sound like me... Speaking of which... Can I give u one piece of feedback? That may or may not be helpful or just my annoying point of view?
me: yes PLEASE. I have no fucking clue what I'm doing. Which I think might be a good thing.
Danielle: This is going to sound really goody goody, but I think strong language, like actual "curse words" in emails or texts or IMs and in blogs can sound even more harsh than they are meant to be taken.
hah.
I really didn't mean that "fucking" u just used ;)
Seriously. I take it back, IM cursing is funny.
me: ha
Danielle: Anyway, I don't recall which day, but I remember reading and u said some word that i was like, uh... that doesn't sound like nice cute Ryan... too harsh.
Sorry. I should have kept my mouth shut... and my fingers from typing.
U can write about me on the blog. Call me "No M."

Get Ready for the New York Ladies.

This Thursday -11pm. Right after The Real Housewives of Orange County Finale. Be There. Or else Jill Zarin will come to your house with her P-O-P stools & make you sit down and watch it with her.

Of Note: Kelly's face at the very end of the clip is PRICELESS.

Award Season Traffic.

For those who are not familiar with the Los Angeles traffic laws Awards Season traffic, you should all say "No, but I don't wanna be." I know, I know, my friends back in Massachusetts think it's the coolest thing ever to see something like the Academy Awards being setup or a real red carpet Movie opening, but it really can put a wrench in most Angelenos commutes. My commute brings me through Hollywood everyday, which is fine... unless of course the Oscars are happening... or Ryan Seacrest American Idol is at the Kodak... or The Hollywood Bowl is having a show (typically the classic rock concerts create the WORST back-ups)... or an animated film is premiering at the Mann Chinese.... Honestly, I really am not trying to complain, it will be cool in retrospect (years from now when I reminisce) & it comes with living in Los Angeles.
One wish dream it-would-have-completed-my-life old movie I wish caused my traffic jams everyday would have been Pretty Woman. If it would have taken me over 4 hours to get to my office, I'd be totally OK with that. I mean, to see that movie being filmed would have been beyond-the-beyond. For those of you who don't know me, it's my FAVORITE MOVIE EVER. Like ever.

Shop assistant: May I help you?
Vivian: I'm just checkin' things out.
Shop assistant: Are you looking for something in particular?
Vivian: No. Well, yeah. Something... conservative.
Shop assistant: Yes.
Vivian: You got nice stuff.
Shop assistant: Thank you.
Vivian: How much is this?
Shop assistant: I don't think this would fit you.
Vivian: Well, I didn't ask if it would fit. I asked how much it was.
Shop assistant: How much is this, Marie?
Marie: It's very expensive
Shop assistant: It's very expensive.
Vivian: Look, I got money to spend in here.
Shop assistant: I don't think we have anything for you. You're obviously in the wrong place.
Marie: Please leave.

Okay, I must work now. Happy Monday.
